Letter from a Tampa Private School Guidance Counselor

"Regarding the presentation, the kids told me they found the information to be very helpful. Many of them had no idea about the matching process and how it could help them get the most money. One thing they liked learning is the benefit of playing schools against each other.

Overall, we were all very impressed and walked away knowing a lot more than we did before. We send you both a HUGE THANKS for investing your time in us. "

- Jessica Forero: Reading Teacher, Tampa Bay Technical High School

"Thank you for speaking with my first period AV/D class. The power point presentation was very informational. After reading their [students’] thank you notes, I realized that almost every student gained at least one important fact to assist in his or her goals."

– Lucinda Rio: Teacher, Memorial Middle School

(The following is an email from a grandparent who asked for help after her grandson completed the application and financial aid process. With limited options, Mr. Albert gave guidance to the family on how to speak with financial aid officers at the school. The result was an extra $4,000 per year in aid and more to come.)

"Hi Ken,

Lori [mother] took your advice and contacted the school. She talked with someone who told her what kinds of things to include in a letter and as a result, Geoff's [student] aid has been increased by $4000, the equity in Lori's house will no longer be a part of the equation, and they assured her that when he reapplies next year, he will get more aid because he will have used up all his "assets" this year - about $2000 he had in the bank and about $17000 in a CD from his great grandfather.

She says to thank you so much for the advice.

Carole [grandparent]"

"We're set for orientation this coming Monday and Tuesday, so I guess we're as ready as we can be. Once again, we can't thank you enough for all the help. I doubt we would be as prepared as we are, if not for your assistance and patience." - Jerry (parent)

"Thank you so much for all your services throughout my senior year as well as the freshman survival book. I've had a great experience with finding the perfect college and after attending the preview at UF I couldn't be more thankful! - Danielle (student)
